Event Photography Jobs
Lookout Visual sources and coordinates local freelance event photographers in Atlanta, GA to capture corporate conferences, galas, and private events on a per-assignment basis.
Atlanta, GA
Lookout Visual assembles a vetted roster of freelance event photographers serving Atlanta, GA and the broader Metro Atlanta region, including Sandy Springs, Marietta, and Roswell. When a client books event coverage, we match the assignment to a local photographer whose experience, gear, and availability fit the brief. This approach keeps coverage consistent across the region while giving local photographers a direct path to steady, paid event work.
We source photographers who show up on time, communicate clearly, and arrive with professional-grade equipment ready to work. Reliability is the baseline requirement — clients hold the blueprint for their event, and we need photographers who can build the visual frame around that plan without hand-holding. Prior experience photographing live events, not just portrait or studio work, is a firm requirement. We also expect photographers to carry their own liability awareness and handle on-site situations independently.
Our Atlanta assignments span corporate events, multi-day conferences, award galas, nonprofit fundraisers, product launches, and private social events. We regularly coordinate coverage at venues across Midtown, Buckhead, Downtown Atlanta, and surrounding areas including Sandy Springs and Marietta. Each event has its own lighting conditions, schedule, and deliverable requirements, so photographers need to be comfortable adapting quickly. Clients range from Fortune 500 companies to local nonprofits and private event planners.
Each assignment begins with a written brief that outlines the event schedule, key moments to capture, deliverable count, and any client-specific requirements. The photographer handles on-site coverage, then delivers edited, export-ready images within the agreed turnaround window. Lookout Visual reviews the delivery before it goes to the client. There is no ongoing retainer — each event is a discrete, paid assignment, and photographers are selected based on fit and availability for that specific job.
Photographers interested in Atlanta event assignments submit a portfolio, a gear list, and a short note about their event experience through our roster application. We review submissions on a rolling basis and reach out when a relevant assignment comes up. Being on the roster does not guarantee a set number of jobs — it means you are in the pool we draw from when sourcing coverage for confirmed events. The stronger and more relevant your portfolio, the more frequently you will be matched to assignments.
We require photographers to own and operate a full-frame or equivalent mirrorless or DSLR camera system with at least two lens options suitable for indoor event coverage — typically a mid-range zoom and a fast prime. An external flash or off-camera lighting capability is expected for ballroom and low-light venue work. Beyond gear, strong skills in Lightroom or comparable editing software are required, as photographers are responsible for their own post-processing. Experience reading a room, anticipating key moments, and working without disrupting the event is equally important.
When an assignment matches your availability and profile, we contact you with the event details and rate before you confirm. Payment is issued per assignment after the edited gallery is delivered and accepted. Rates vary based on event duration, deliverable count, and any specialty requirements. We pay on a net schedule communicated at the time of the assignment offer, and all payment terms are confirmed in writing before the event date.
We source photographers for events throughout Metro Atlanta, including the city proper, Sandy Springs, Marietta, Roswell, Buckhead, Midtown, Downtown, and surrounding suburbs. If you are based anywhere in the greater Atlanta metro area, you are eligible to be considered for roster placement.
We require demonstrated experience photographing live events — not just portraits, headshots, or studio sessions. Your portfolio should include real event work such as corporate gatherings, galas, conferences, or similar. If your portfolio does not include event coverage, your application is unlikely to advance.
All assignments are per-event. There is no ongoing contract or retainer arrangement. You are added to our roster pool, and when an assignment fits your profile and availability, we reach out with the details. You confirm each job individually.
Submit your portfolio, gear list, and a brief description of your event experience through our roster application. We review submissions on a rolling basis. If your profile fits an upcoming assignment, we will contact you directly with the event brief and rate for your consideration.
You need a full-frame or equivalent mirrorless or DSLR camera system, at least two lenses suitable for indoor event coverage, and an external flash or off-camera lighting option. You are also responsible for your own editing using Lightroom or comparable software. Borrowing or renting gear is not a substitute for owning a professional kit.
Payment is issued per assignment after your edited gallery is delivered and accepted by Lookout Visual. The rate and payment schedule are communicated in writing before you confirm the job. We do not issue payment for assignments that are declined or not completed.
