Event Photography Jobs
Lookout Visual sources and coordinates local freelance event photographers in Miami, FL to capture corporate, private, and community events on a per-assignment basis.
Miami, FL
Miami's event calendar runs year-round, spanning corporate conferences in Brickell, galas in Coral Gables, trade expos in Doral, and private celebrations across Hialeah and the greater South Florida region. Lookout Visual assembles a local roster of vetted freelance photographers who are available to cover these assignments as they arise. Photographers based in or near Miami are well-positioned to fill consistent, scheduled work tied to the events market here.
Lookout Visual evaluates photographers on three practical criteria: reliability, professional-grade gear, and documented experience at live events. We need photographers who arrive on time, follow a provided shot brief, and operate independently without on-site direction. A verifiable portfolio of event coverage — corporate, social, or otherwise — is required before placement on the Miami roster. Consistent communication and punctual file delivery are treated as non-negotiable standards.
Our Miami assignments span corporate events, professional conferences, award galas, product launches, nonprofit fundraisers, and private social events. We regularly coordinate coverage in venues across downtown Miami, Coral Gables, Doral, and surrounding South Florida areas. Each event type carries its own shot list and delivery timeline, which we provide in advance. Photographers are matched to event types that align with their documented experience.
Before each assignment, Lookout Visual sends the photographer a written brief that includes the event schedule, key moments to capture, venue details, and client preferences. The photographer attends on-site, captures coverage according to the brief, and delivers edited files within the agreed turnaround window. Lookout Visual handles all client-facing communication; the photographer's role is focused on capture and delivery. There is no expectation of sales, upselling, or client management from the photographer.
Photographers interested in Miami event assignments complete a short application that includes a portfolio review and a discovery session with our coordination team. During the discovery session, we confirm your event experience, equipment, availability, and coverage zones across Miami and South Florida. Approved photographers are added to the active roster and receive assignment offers based on availability and fit. There is no exclusivity requirement; roster photographers may work with other clients.
Event photographers on the Lookout Visual roster are expected to own and operate full-frame or equivalent mirrorless or DSLR camera systems with at least one fast prime or zoom lens suited to low-light interiors. An external flash or speedlight, a secondary camera body as backup, and sufficient memory card capacity for a multi-hour event are standard expectations. Post-processing proficiency in Adobe Lightroom or equivalent software is required for timely, consistent file delivery. Familiarity with candid, editorial-style event photography is preferred over posed portraiture skills alone.
Assignment offers are sent to roster photographers based on availability windows collected during onboarding and updated periodically. Photographers confirm or decline each offer; there is no penalty for declining work. Payment is issued per assignment at a flat rate agreed upon during the discovery session, with invoices processed within a standard net payment window after file delivery is confirmed. Lookout Visual does not withhold taxes; roster photographers are engaged as independent contractors and are responsible for their own tax obligations.
We coordinate event photography assignments across Miami, FL and the surrounding South Florida region, including Hialeah, Coral Gables, Doral, and other nearby areas. Photographers who can cover multiple zones within this region are prioritized during roster assembly.
Applicants must submit a portfolio that demonstrates prior coverage of live events — corporate, social, nonprofit, or similar. We review the portfolio for composition, low-light handling, and editorial storytelling before approving placement. First-time event photographers without a documented event portfolio are not eligible for the current Miami roster.
All assignments are offered on a per-event basis. There are no long-term contracts or guaranteed minimums. Roster photographers receive offers as relevant Miami events are scheduled, and they confirm availability for each one individually.
Start by submitting your portfolio and basic availability through our application process. If your work aligns with our standards, we schedule a brief discovery session to confirm equipment, coverage zones, and event experience. Approved photographers are added to the active Miami roster and begin receiving assignment offers.
You should own a full-frame or equivalent mirrorless or DSLR camera system, at least one lens appropriate for indoor event coverage, an external flash, a backup camera body, and adequate storage. Post-processing capability in Lightroom or a comparable application is also required for file delivery.
Payment is issued per assignment at a flat rate established during your discovery session. Invoices are processed within our standard net payment window after your edited files are confirmed as received and accepted. Roster photographers are independent contractors and are responsible for managing their own tax filings.
